THE HISTORY OF HANSFORD AND CROCKER

Hansford & Crocker was formed in 2007 when Alex Hansford and Will Crocker, two University of Hull graduates in Sport Rehabilitation, opened their first clinic within what is now the Hull Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre.
Building on its success, a year later a second clinic was opened at the Total Fitness centre in Willerby. Although this is located within the club itself, it is not necessary to be a member to visit the clinic.
In 2009 they moved out of Nuffield to a new clinic in Appletree Court, Hessle. In addition to providing the same professional, caring approach to injury recovery, health and rehabilitation it enabled them to offer new services, including personal fitness training using the fully equipped personal fitness & rehabilitation studio attached to the clinic.A second personal fitness studio was added in 2012.
Hansford & Crocker have now opened a third clinic, located within the David Lloyd Leisure centre in Kingswood. As with the Total Fitness facility, it is not necessary to be a member of the club in order to visit the clinic.
Graduates in Sport Rehabilitation are healthcare practitioners who specialise in musculoskeletal management, exercise based rehabilitation and fitness. As Graduate Sports Rehabilitators (GSR’s) Alex and Will have been trained to treat all musculoskeletal injuries from its initial onset through to a return to sport, work or activity.
In addition to sports injuries, they are trained in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal conditions picked up at work, leisure and play.
A wide range of services are offered at all clinics, including injury assessment and rehabilitation, sports massage and injury prevention courses. A common thread to the services offered is a dedication to providing the best treatment modalities and techniques to ensure clients can progress quickly, effectively and safely.
A key component of their treatment is an investigation into the cause of the injury and then working with the client to try and prevent the problem from recurring, by correcting any causative factors that contributed to the injury and giving you the tools to manage the condition yourself.
The aim is to help every patient overcome their injury with confidence and allow a return to the workplace or sport as rapidly as possible.
